“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”
—John Dewey
At Middlebridge, small class sizes, individualized tutorials, and a supportive community help students turn challenges into strengths.
Our language-based, multisensory approach inspires confidence, curiosity, and independence—preparing every student for success in college and beyond.
Academic Programming
Middlebridge has earned a reputation as a leading college-preparatory program for students with learning differences. Our curriculum, faculty, and community are designed to meet students where they are, while helping them grow into confident, independent learners ready for higher education and beyond.
The Middlebridge Classroom
The Middlebridge classroom is intentionally different. Classes are small—typically five to seven students—and grouped by similar learning profiles to ensure that each student learns in an environment where they are both understood and challenged.
Our approach is language-based and multisensory, engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic strengths. Teachers and students work side by side to explore content, test ideas, and build skills in highly interactive and supportive settings.
Success drives the pace of instruction. Teachers identify the sources of confusion and error patterns, reinforce areas of strength, and guide students to stretch toward new challenges. Students demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways, celebrating their talents while developing strategies to overcome areas of difficulty.
Daily proctored study halls extend the classroom, giving students time to reinforce lessons with teacher guidance available in the moment. Every class and program is tailored to maximize potential and to help students grow into independent, lifelong learners.
Academic Programming
The academic program at Middlebridge consists of instruction in English, Mathematics, Science, History, Art and Technology, and Physical Education and Wellness. Our academic curriculum is approved by the Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
